Project Description

The works undertaken at Rolls Royce were commissioned to increase the existing production line at their flagship Goodwood factory in Chichester. The works comprised the installation of three new production tracks and two turntables including associated high level services consisting of new lighting, data, ventilation and compressed air. A new air handling unit was installed to the pits as well as associated duct work. Shaylor Group prepared the pits ready for the installation of equipment by specialist pit installers based in Germany. The production lines remained dust free throughout the works by erecting purpose fitted tents equipped with fresh air and dust and fume extraction, to achieve a negative pressure environment.

"I was massively impressed with how Shaylor Group were able to adapt their skills on this particular project. After unearthing a number of major obstacles throughout the shut down period, Shaylor Group managed to pull their team together and meticulously plan future shutdowns to achieve an excellent finish to a very tough project. In my opinion, the main reason Shaylor Group had such a successful delivery was the team and site manager’s attention to detail and their proactive approach to communication with all parties. With regard to this project, I can’t speak highly enough of Shaylor Group and I am very much looking forward to working together on future projects."
