Royal Orthopaedic Hospital

Project Details:

  • Project Name: Royal Orthopaedic Hospital
  • Client: The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust
  • Value: £6 million
  • Location: Birmingham

Project Description

The project involved the construction of a new out- patients department and main focal entrance to the existing hospital. The two storey structure comprised a steel frame with full height curtain walling and a feature atrium. Also included in the project was the construction of a conservatory and new substation adjacent to the existing Children’s Ward. Furthermore, The Teenage Cancer Trust’s Unit at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital was officially opened after we had increased the size of the unit, refurbished it and carried out all internal finishes. There are also high spec clinical and consultant rooms, X-ray facilities with recovery rooms and dedicated plaster rooms. Additionally, there are teaching rooms, a pharmacy, cold stores and blood banks which were fitted out to the stringent requirements of this specialist hospital.

“I wanted to write to thank you for your kind and generous donation of presents and gift vouchers to our Paediatric Department. The extensive range of gifts has brought considerable pleasure to the Paediatric Dept. and I have seen from the photographs taken on the day how gratefully these were received by our younger patients. We are most grateful for your generosity and look forward to continuing to work with you.”
