Zeeman Building Extension

Zeeman Building Extension

Project Details:

  • Project Name: Zeeman Building Extension
  • Client: University of Warwick
  • Value: £2.49 million
  • Location: Warwick

Project Description

The project involved the construction of a three storey, reinforced concrete frame extension to the Mathematics and Statistics Building to incorporate lecture rooms and offices, with a link bridge to the Computer Sciences Building. The project also included associated external works. The schedule of works was carefully planned and coordinated to avoid potential disruption to the university’s curriculum. All work which involved noise and vibration was completed out of hours. An example of our collaborative approach was our programme sequencing to meet the client’s requirements for early installation of an external glass corridor, which was variation to the original contract. Due to the project’s success, Shaylor Group was nominated for the LABC Building Excellence ‘Best Partnering Contractor’ Award.
