This move indicates a positive step forward, as part of a 44 point, two year improvement plan under way across the business.
The NASC has played a pivotal role in the decrease of scaffolding related accidents and incidents over the last twenty years, and publish an annual safety report and monitor member’s performance. Their membership now accounts for over 75% of UK scaffolding turnover.
Members are regulated and must meet NASC objectives of maintaining and developing best practice. Failure to meet the exacting standards required by the team will lead to loss of membership (six companies were expelled during 2009). This commitment to high standards impressed the Shaylor team.
Shaylor Group Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Manager, Nigel Cresswell commented
“The health and safety of all involved on any of our construction projects is of paramount importance to our business. Work at height is one of the most hazardous areas of construction and requires professionalism and diligence. By using only NASC accredited organisations we can ensure our scaffolds are erected by professional organisations who have been through a rigorous membership process to prove their competence.”
Charlotte Jeffries will be joining the JDI Team as the new receptionist on Monday 6th September. Please give her the usual JDI/Shaylor welcome.
