Construction of the ACT-UK Simulation Centre
Two storey, steel framed traditionally constructed facility with varied cladding materials, specifically designed and fitted out for training of construction managers as a Virtual Learning Resource. A ‘Simulation Hall’ is constructed within the building with site cabins (supplied by Portakabin) to simulate site conditions for training purposes.
First development of it’s kind in UK and only the second in Europe.
- Constructing Excellence Lean Programming used to the benefit of collaborative planning which achieved reductions in budget and optimised programme. Project selected as a Constructing Excellence Demonstration Project as a result of this collaborative approach.
- Excellent relationships with Client Team
- Cost savings achieved by value engineering and alternative products to meet client budget without compromising standards
- BREEAM 'Very Good' rating
- The air test permeability was certified as 5M3/ph. This achievement shows the robust construction detailing involved in the construction process.
- Two Site Managers attended learning workshop at first ACT Centre in the Netherlands to benefit of full site team.
